The wine
Area of production: The grapes are from the old vines of Vigna Gaja — the historical vineyard owned by Clerico family from 1740-th on the south-facing slope of the hill of Lessona
Maturation: 36 months in French oak botte (15 hl oak casks) and 12 months in barriques from Burgundy (old)
Alcohol content: : 13,50% vol.
Production: 2000 bottles.
Tasting note
Color: Bright ruby red taking on a granata hue as it ages which highlights all the elegance of Nebbiolo
Bouquet: Intense and enveloping. Wild berries, red currant and raspberry. Fine herbs, liquorice and cinchona, a hint of toasted almond and mineral «sandy» notes. By pouring elegant balsamic nuances of mint.
Taste: Intense, fresh and persistent with a very fine tannin and a pleasant acidity, ripe cherry, black pepper, cloves aftertaste.
